In the province of Formosa, Pilagá women harvest the small palm-like plant called carandillo, marsh and separate the fibers to weave beautiful objects using ancestral techniques. These products bring much needed income and socio-economic development to the remote, rural region, and embody Argentina’s rich tradition of craftsmanship. Carandillo fiber varies in shades of pale yellow to light greens.
